Privacy Policy

getkeyd ("we," "us") is an educational tool for first-time home buyers. This policy explains what information we handle and how. We've written it to be plain and honest - please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

The short version

The numbers you enter into our calculators and assessments (income, savings, credit range, journey progress, savings goals) are processed entirely in your browser and stored only on your own device using local storage. We do not receive, see, or store that information on any server. The only information you actively send us is what you type into our Contact form.

Information we collect

• Contact form submissions. If you use our Contact page, the name, email, and message you provide are sent to us through our form provider, Formspree, so we can respond to you.
• Information stored on your device. Your assessment inputs, journey progress, and savings goals are saved in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time (see below).
• Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operation. We do not use this to identify you.

How we use information

We use Contact form information solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising.

Third-party services

• Formspree processes Contact form submissions. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.
• Google Fonts is used to display the site's typefaces, which may involve your browser requesting font files from Google.
• Our resources may link to third-party sites (e.g., government agencies). Their privacy practices are their own.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use your browser's local storage to remember your inputs so your progress is there when you return. You can delete this at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or by using the "Reset" controls in the app.

Children's privacy

getkeyd is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Your rights (including California residents)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we store contact submissions only, you can exercise these rights by emailing us through the Contact page. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion; we do not sell personal information.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect information transmitted through our Contact form, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
